Almogran 12.5mg tablets are a type of medication used to help relieve tension headaches. Almogran 12.5mg tablets work by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain, which helps to reduce the pain that is associated with tension headaches. The medication comes in the form of a tablet and is taken orally.
Serotonin is a natural substance that is found in the brain and other parts of the body. It is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in regulating mood, pain perception, and other functions. However, when serotonin levels are too high, it can cause migraines. Almogran 12.5mg tablets are a medication used to treat migraines and cluster headaches. The active ingredient in the medication Almotriptan is a type of medicine called a 5-HT1 Serotonin receptor agonist, that works by reducing the amount of serotonin in the body, which can help to prevent migraines. In addition, Almogran can relieve migraines by constricting blood vessels and reducing inflammation, pain and pressure on the walls, which lowers blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body.
You must take Almogran exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Almogran 12.5mg tablets should be taken orally, with or without food.
Almotriptan, titanium dioxide, povidone, Mannitol, sodium starch glycolate, carnauba wax, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, Macrogol 400, and sodium stearyl fumarate.
Side effects include:
Uncommon side effects can include palpitations, indigestion, chest pain, muscle pain, and more. Rarely, Almogran can cause more severe side effects, such as an increased heart rate or heart attack. If you experience severe side effects, contact your doctor immediately
1. How does Almogran work to relieve migraines? Almogran contains almotriptan, which is a selective serotonin receptor agonist. It works by stimulating serotonin receptors in the brain, causing blood vessels to narrow. This action reduces the inflammatory response associated with migraines, helping to alleviate the throbbing pain typically experienced during an attack
2. When should I take Almogran during a migraine attack? Almogran is most effective when taken as soon as possible after the onset of a migraine attack. However, it can still provide relief if taken at a later stage. If your first dose does not relieve the migraine, do not take another dose for the same attack. If a second migraine occurs within 24 hours, a second dose may be taken, provided there is at least a two-hour gap between doses
3. Can I use Almogran to prevent migraines? No, Almogran is not designed for the prevention of migraines. It should only be used to treat an active migraine attack. If you experience frequent migraines, consult your healthcare provider for a suitable preventive treatment.
4. What are the common side effects of Almogran? Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, sleepiness, and dizziness. Uncommon side effects can include palpitations, indigestion, chest pain, and muscle pain. Rarely, more severe side effects, such as an increased heart rate or heart attack, can occur. Contact your doctor if you experience severe side effects.
5. Can I take Almogran with other migraine medications? Almogran should not be taken in combination with other triptan medications (e.g., sumatriptan, zolmitriptan) or with migraine treatments containing ergotamine. Always consult your doctor about any medications you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions
