- If you have not had genital herpes diagnosed by a medical professional, not providing a picture may delay the dispatch of your treatment.

- HIV positive;
- Kidneys, urinary system or liver problems
- Impaired or weakened immune system
- Over 65 years old
- Anaemia.
- Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. (G6PD)
- Methaemoglobinaemia.
- Atopic dermatitis.
- Cimetidine (to treat excess stomach acid).
- Probenecid (to treat gout).
- Mycophenolate mofetil or ciclosporin (used in transplant patients).
- Theophylline (to treat asthma or breathing problems).
- Zidovudine (to treat HIV).
- Raloxifene (used to prevent and treat osteoporosis);
- Suplhonamides (including sulfamethoxazole).
- Local anaesthetics (such as prilocaine or lidocaine).
- Uneven or irregular heart beat (including mexiletine or amiodarone).
- Genital herpes is highly contagious and can be transmitted by having sex (vaginal, anal or oral).
- It is important to prevent the spread of genital herpes by avoiding sex until symptoms have cleared up and continuing to use a condom afterwards.
- If your outbreaks occur more frequently or become more severe, you should see your doctor.
