- Intense throbbing/pulsating headache

- Heart disease or heart problems such as narrowing of the arteries (ischaemic heart disease) or chest pains (angina), or have already had a heart attack, heart failure, slow heart rate, severe blood circulation.
- Stroke or a mini-stroke (also called a transient ischaemic attack or TIA)
- High blood pressure
- Coronary Vasospasm (including Prinzmetal’s angina)
- Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (a type of abnormal heartbeat)
- Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Previous Gastrointestinal or Splenic infarction
- Ischaemic Colitis
- Epilepsy or history of seizures
- Liver problems or Kidney problems
- Allergy or sensitivity to antibiotics called sulphonamides (e.g. trimethoprim)
- Diabetes
- Untreated phaeochromocytoma (high blood pressure due to a tumour near the kidney).
- Suffer from asthma or any other breathing difficulties
- Pizotifen.
- Propranolol.
- The combined oral contraceptive pill (not the progesterone only ‘mini’ pill);
- Ergotamine or methylsergide.
- MAOIs (e.g. moclobemide or selegiline).
- SSRIs (e.g. citalopram, fluoxetine or sertraline) or other medicines for depression.
- Lithium.
- St. John's Wort (a herbal remedy).
- Cimetidine (for indigestion or stomach ulcers).
- A quinolone antibiotic (e.g. ciprofloxacin).
- Clonidine
- Disopyramide, quinidine, amiodarone, propafenone (to treat irregular heartbeat - arrhythmia), digitalis glycosides (to treat heart conditions - digoxin), verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine, nisoldipine, nicardipine, isradipine, lacidipine and dihydropyridine (to treat heart disease)
- Paralysis or weakness in one or both arms and/or one side of the face.
- Slurred or garbled speech.
- A sudden agonising headache resulting in a blinding pain unlike anything experienced before.
- Headache along with a high temperature (fever), stiff neck, mental confusion, seizures, double vision and a rash.
- The treatment is solely for your own use.
- You have answered truthfully to all the questions and you are aware that any incorrect information you provided can present a potential danger to your health.
- You will read the patient information leaflet supplied with the medicine specifically the side effects and dosages.
- You will inform your doctor about any unusaul side effects.
