Description

Cerelle is a progestogen-only contraceptive pill (mini-pill) containing the synthetic hormone desogestrel. It is designed to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation and thickening the mucus in the cervix, making it difficult for sperm to enter the womb. Cerelle is a suitable option for women who cannot or prefer not to take estrogen-containing contraceptives. This pill is taken daily, at the same time, without breaks between packs, and many women may experience a reduction in the frequency of their periods or stop having periods altogether while taking it

This pill is unique as it allows a 12 hour missed duration. It contains the synthetic hormone desogestrel, which stops ovulation and makes it hard for the sperm to fertilise the egg. Cerelle pill is an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and those allergic to oestrogen.
