Dalacin 2% cream is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial vaginosis. It helps to restore the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina. This medication comes in a cream form and is applied directly to the inside of the vagina.

Dalacin 2% Cream contains clindamycin phosphate, an antibiotic that effectively treats bacterial vaginosis by stopping the growth of certain bacteria in the vaginal area. It is supplied with applicators for ease of application, ensuring accurate dosing directly inside the vagina. A full course usually spans 3 to 7 days, during which the cream helps restore the natural bacterial balance.
 
 

How Does Dalacin 2% Cream Work?

Bacterial vaginosis is a common vaginal infection caused by bacteria. Symptoms include a strong fishy odour, vaginal discharge, and itching. Dalacin 2% cream is effective in treating bacterial vaginosis. It works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection and can help clear up symptoms within a few days. It is important to complete the full course of treatment to ensure the infection is completely cleared.

It is commonly used to treat cellulitis, impetigo, bacterial vaginosis, anaerobic infections, and skin infections.

Warnings

  • You must not engage in unprotected sexual intercourse when using Dalacin.
  • Do not use Dalacin 2% cream when pregnant or breastfeeding without informing your doctor.
  • If you have been experiencing Diarrhea, you must not use Dalacin 2% cream without informing your doctor.
  • Do not use Dalacin 2% cream without informing your doctor about any other prescription medication you are using.

Directions

Dalacin 2% cream should be used according to your doctor's instructions: 

  • Wash your hands before and after interacting with the medication.
  • Remove the cap from the tube and attach a disposable plastic applicator.
  • Push the cream into the applicator by squeezing it from the bottom.
  • When the plunger on the applicator has been fully depressed, unscrew and replace the applicator cap once it's clean.
  • Lying on your back with your legs raised allows you to insert the device as far up as possible vaginally.
  • Slowly push down on the plunger on the application until all of the creams has been removed.
  • Immediately remove and discard any applicators after use.

Clindamycin phosphate, stearic acid, polysorbate 60, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, propylene glycol, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, and liquid paraffin.
