Evra Patches is as effective as any other combined contraceptive pill. It is made up of Ethinyl estradiol and norelgestrominas its active ingredients. The patch continuously releases hormones into the bloodstream through the skin. These hormones prevent ovulation, thicken cervical mucus, and alter the uterine lining, making it difficult for sperm to reach an egg or for an egg to implant. 1. How often do I change the patch?
Apply a new patch once a week for three consecutive weeks, followed by a patch-free week.
2. Where should I apply the patch?
Apply to clean, dry, hairless skin on the buttocks, abdomen, upper outer arm, or upper torso (excluding the breasts).
3. Can I swim or shower with the patch?
Yes, Evra patches are water-resistant and stay on during activities like swimming or showering.
4. What should I do if the patch falls off?
If the patch falls off for less than 24 hours, reapply it. If it's been off for longer, apply a new patch and use backup contraception for 7 days.
5. Is Evra suitable for everyone?
Not suitable for women with a history of blood clots, certain cancers, or high blood pressure. Always consult a healthcare professional before use.
