Description

What Is Hydrocortisone Cream?

Hydrocortisone Cream treats skin conditions like insect bites, allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. The medication is a mild steroid. The drug should be applied on the skin or scalp only. Avoid using on the face or underarms unless directed by the prescriber. It is a topical steroid that works to reduce chemicals in the body that cause swelling. Actavis makes Hydrocortisone cream that heals eczema symptoms like pain, and sore and itchy skin. The treatment also comes as an ointment or lotion.

How Does Hydrocortisone Cream Work?

Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that works by suppressing the body's inflammatory response in the affected area. It decreases the release of chemicals that cause redness, swelling, and itching. By calming the skin, it provides relief from symptoms, allowing the skin to heal. The cream is suitable for short-term use on small areas of the body.
