Spedra contains avanafil, a fast-acting medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to a group of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors) that work by increasing blood flow to the penis, which helps a man get and keep an erection. It helps men achieve and maintain an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. Spedra works within 15-30 minutes and lasts for up to 4 hours.
The active ingredient in Spedra is called avanafil. Avanafil belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors). PDE5 inhibitors work by increasing the amount of blood that flows into the penis, causing the smooth muscles in the penis to relax which helps you to get and keep an erection. When a person takes a Spedra tablet, it is absorbed into their bloodstream very quickly. The medicine then travels to the heart and lungs, before going to the penis where it helps to increase blood flow and cause an erection. The effects of Spedra usually last for around four hours, although this may vary from person to person.
Follow the instructions given by your doctor, or read the patient information leaflet before using the tablets when self-medicating.
